Werder Bremen has signed Dariusz Stalmach, a 20-year-old Poland U20 international, from second-division club Magdeburg on a long-term contract. According to a club announcement, Peter Niemeyer, Head of Professional Football, stated that Werder had been monitoring the ambitious player's progress for a considerable time and sees further potential in him. Stalmach, who is intended to be a squad player in central midfield, previously developed his skills in Poland and Italy with clubs including Gornik Zabrze and AC Mailand before moving to Magdeburg in Germany's second division in February 2025. Last season, he made 24 appearances, scoring two goals, providing three assists, and featuring in the starting lineup eight times. Coach Daniel Thioune commented that Stalmach is technically strong but still has room to develop, adding that while expectations should be managed, the player will enrich the squad. For the Poland U20 team, Stalmach has earned 5 caps and scored 1 goal, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €1.50m.
