Daniel Muñoz Transfer from Crystal Palace to Chelsea
A claim was made on Friday that €30 million could be a sufficient amount to sign Daniel Munoz from Selhurst Park in 2026.
Mark Brus reported that Chelsea have had discussions with Palace regarding right back Daniel Muñoz and are preparing to compete with Barcelona, Man City, and Paris Saint-Germain for a deal.
According to Semana and journalist Julian Capera, Daniel Muñoz is also being monitored by Chelsea.
Julián Capera reports that Chelsea have made contact with the representatives of Munoz concerning the possibility of signing the 29-year-old. The talks are at a very early and informal stage, but Chelsea are very interested in the player. Chelsea want the 29-year-old, despite Enzo Maresca already having Reece James, Malo Gusto and Josh Acheampong as senior right-back options. Data analytics experts SciSports believe Munoz would become the fifth best player in the Chelsea first-team squad, ranking behind only Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Jamie Gittens and Levi Colwill.
According to Transfermarkt, both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are considering signing right-back Daniel Muñoz.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea are interested in signing Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz. The report claims that a bid of €30m (£26.4m / $34.7m) would be enough to sign Munoz from Palace in January. Crystal Palace are resolute in their stance, with Munoz contracted until 2028 and a club option to extend for an additional year, and the club is under no immediate pressure to sell.
Chelsea are said to be monitoring Muñoz closely as they continue to make changes to their squad under Enzo Maresca. The club views him as an ideal candidate to compete with Reece James and Malo Gusto. Both of those players have struggled with injuries.
Daniel Muñoz is reportedly on Barcelona's agenda for the next summer. He is considered one of the revelations in the Premier League. According to Antena 2 in Colombia, both Manchester City and Chelsea are also following him. Daniel Muñoz has previously expressed his dream of playing for Barcelona, citing Ronaldinho and Dani Alves as his inspirations.
Daniel Munoz, a Colombian right-back who moved from KRC Genk to Crystal Palace approximately a year ago, is now drawing attention from leading clubs, as reported by international media. Chelsea, among other clubs, is said to be interested in signing him. Munoz was acquired by Crystal Palace for 8 million euros, with the potential for further millions through bonuses. KRC Genk retains a sell-on percentage on the profit. Munoz's market value is believed to have risen to 25 million euros, and he remains under contract until mid-2027.
