The club had an option to extend Graovac's contract, but Gigi Becali was against it, reportedly preferring to retain Vali Crețu and citing significant competition in both central and right-back positions. In contrast, FCSB's Mihai Stoica expressed regret over the decision, stating to Prima Sport that Graovac is a good footballer whose versatility allows him to play as a right-back as well.
