The Sun reports on CJ Egan-Riley's transfer to Marseille after leaving Burnley. CJ Egan-Riley has left Burnley for Marseille for nothing at the end of his contract because Burnley would not pay a huge agent’s fee.

CJ Egan-Riley is set to join Olympique de Marseille on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Burnley in June. The English defender has successfully passed his medical examination and will sign a contract with Marseille until June 2029. Despite a lucrative offer from West Ham, Egan-Riley was convinced by discussions with Marseille's director of football Medhi Benatia and coach Roberto De Zerbi, leading to his decision to join the French club.

CJ Egan-Riley, a 22-year-old English defender, is set to join Olympique de Marseille. Burnley has confirmed his departure to France. RMC Sport reports that Egan-Riley is currently undergoing his medical examination in Marseille. If successful, he will sign a contract with OM until 2029.

Olympique de Marseille managed to outbid Strasbourg by offering a superior financial package and a more attractive project, including participation in the Champions League. This convinced CJ Egan-Riley to change his plans and join the club.

Burnley confirmed that defender CJ Egan-Riley has rejected the club's contract offer and decided to pursue an opportunity in France. He is set to join OM as announced earlier by Footmercato.

Olympique Marsiglia is interested in signing CJ Egan Riley to strengthen their defense, as per the instructions of coach Roberto De Zerbi. Egan Riley is a young and experienced defender who played 41 matches in the Championship this year, helping Burnley achieve the best defensive record. The club needs to reinforce its defense, especially with the potential sale of Leonardo Balerdi. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market worth at 16.00m euros.
