Midfielder Cole Jarvis has rejoined Merthyr Town for a third spell on a loan from Newport County that will last until January. The 25-year-old, who trained at Merthyr's academy, originally signed for Newport from the club at the start of 2026. Since then, he has made 11 League Two appearances for the Exiles, scoring his first Football League goal in August against Bristol Rovers. His return to Merthyr was completed after he made his fourth appearance of the current campaign in Tuesday’s EFL Trophy fixture against Plymouth. Merthyr manager Paul Michael welcomed the player's return, stating that Jarvis will bring athleticism, a physical presence, and quality to the squad.
