Claudio Cassano, an Italian attacking midfielder born in 2003, is on the verge of transferring from Chicago Fire II to Lugano. The transfer is reportedly in its final stages. Lugano, which is coached by Mattia Croci-Torti, is situated in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, near the Italian border. Last season, Cassano played in the United States with Chicago Fire II in MLS Next Pro, where he scored 10 goals and made 10 assists. This transfer signifies a return to Europe for Cassano, who previously left Italy and Serie B to embark on a new professional journey in the United States. He is now set to play close to his birthplace, near the Italian border. Cassano's contract with Chicago Fire II is valid until December 31, 2027, and his market value is estimated at €1.20m by Transfermarkt. Additionally, he had been associated with Avellino.
