International Senegalese forward Cheikh Sabaly has joined Vancouver. Vancouver announced they have obtained the rights to Cheikh Sabaly from the French Ligue 1 club Metz. Sabaly has signed a contract with Vancouver that is valid until 2029 and includes an option for the 2029-30 season. He played 122 matches for Metz, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists, and contributed to three promotions to Ligue 1 (2019, 2023, 2025).

FC Metz is expected to transfer Cheikh Sabaly, a 26-year-old Senegalese winger, to Vancouver. This transfer is one of several departures anticipated from Ligue 1 clubs during the final hours of the transfer market. Sabaly, who joined Metz in July 2018, has made 14 appearances and provided 2 assists in the current Ligue 1 season. Capped 12 times by Senegal, his contract with the French club was set to expire in June 2026, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.50m.
