Carl Rushworth Transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion to Coventry City

Carl Rushworth, a 24-year-old goalkeeper owned by Brighton & Hove Albion, is joining Coventry City on a one-year loan. He has previously been on loan at Worthing, Walsall, Lincoln City, and Swansea City, where he played 48 matches and achieved 11 clean sheets in the 2023/24 season. After a brief stint at Hull City last year, Coventry represents a new step in his development. Brighton's technical director David Weir commented, "Carl has had great opportunities in the Championship. It will be interesting to follow him closely."

Carl Rushworth was previously linked with a loan move to Rangers, but Brighton decided against loaning him to them. Now, Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, may capitalize on the situation and sign Rushworth. Former Aston Villa defender Lee Hendrie noted that signing Rushworth would be a significant addition to Coventry City.

Carl Rushworth prefers a permanent transfer to Coventry, where he could work under Frank Lampard and have a chance for promotion to the Premier League. Last season, Coventry ended fifth in the Championship.

Daily Record reports on Coventry City’s pursuit of a loan deal for Carl Rushworth. Coventry City are said to be chasing a loan deal for Carl Rushworth, the Brighton goalkeeper, who has returned to his parent club after a loan spell at Hull City. While Rangers were initially interested in securing Rushworth’s services as competition for their current goalkeepers, the move has been deemed unlikely due to Brighton's reluctance to sanction a deal. As a result, Coventry City are in the race to secure Rushworth on loan, amid other interests.
