Spanish attacking midfielder Cameron Puertas, 27, stated at a press conference that, given the war in the Middle East, he does not know if he can return to Saudi Arabia. Puertas said that he had honestly already asked himself whether it would be possible to return to Saudi Arabia, adding that he just hopes the situation on the ground relaxes, not for his own situation, but for the people who live there. Puertas moved to Saudi Arabia in summer 2024 and is currently on loan from Saudi Arabian first division club Al-Qadsiah to Werder Bremen until the end of the season. His contract with Al-Qadsiah FC is valid until June 30, 2027, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €10.00m. In the 2025/2026 Bundesliga season, Puertas has made 21 appearances and provided one assist. He has previously represented Switzerland at the U21 level.
