Cameron Ferguson, the 23-year-old son of Everton legend Duncan Ferguson, has joined National League North side Southport following his departure from Bala Town. The striker, who was in Newcastle United's academy, leaves Welsh football after making 26 appearances across spells with Bala, Connah’s Quay Nomads, and Flint Town United. Bala had initially announced that Ferguson would stay for the 2026/27 campaign, but that decision was later reversed, which allowed him to leave. His departure followed a period where the forward scored in three consecutive games late in the season, as Bala were relegated from the Cymru Premier.
