Daily Record reports that Celts are concerned about captain Callum McGregor, with the Saudi Super league transfer window having opened yesterday amid serious interest from former Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou’s Al Nassr. Al Nassr are seeking several new signings and are currently assessing their foreign contingent, as clubs in Saudi are restricted on the number of international imports in their squads.

According to reports from 365Scores, Al-Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou is targeting Callum McGregor to replace the outgoing Marcelo Brozovic. Al-Nassr remain the primary route for McGregor, who is contracted until 2028. Celtic has control over a transfer fee, although his age keeps that number relatively low. McGregor’s market value is approximately €2m.

There has been increased speculation regarding a potential move for Callum McGregor to Al-Nassr. The Middle Eastern outlet 365Scores claims that Ange Postecoglou has identified two foreign midfielders to replace the departing Marcelo Brozovic. It is claimed that Al-Nassr has reached a preliminary agreement with one unnamed player identified by Postecoglou and expects this player to join the first team this summer. Club officials are said to be awaiting approval from the relevant authorities for this deal to finalise it officially when the Saudi transfer window opens on July 22. It is also noted in Saudi that Postecoglou is targeting players who are prepared to implement his tactical ideas.

Although Celtic captain Callum McGregor had been linked with Al Qadsiah, it is understood a transfer will not happen this summer because the club has met its limit for foreign players. The 33-year-old defensive midfielder, who recently switched to a Dubai-based agent, could still move to the Middle East as his former manager Ange Postecoglou is now in charge of Al-Nassr. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill stated that McGregor has not indicated he wants to leave, but acknowledged a "mind-boggling" offer could become a different issue.
