Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Alakbarov reported that Qarabag had expressed interest in Bruno Petković but decided to withdraw from negotiations after learning about his demand for an annual salary of one million euros. Qarabag, which has been the reigning champion of Azerbaijan for 11 consecutive years and is a regular participant in European competitions, had considered adding Petković to their squad following Dinamo Zagreb's elimination of Qarabag from the Champions League playoffs last season with an aggregate score of 5-0. Despite this interest, Petković is still searching for a new club after his departure from Dinamo, where he played 279 matches, scored 88 goals, and provided 61 assists. Qarabag ultimately chose not to pursue the transfer due to the salary requirements.
