Slavia's president, Ventsi Stefanov, revealed in a statement to "Mach Telegraph" that the club was in negotiations with Bozhidar Chorbadzhiyski for a week. Stefanov claimed that the player had promised to join Slavia, but the move did not materialize as Chorbadzhiyski chose to sign with Botev (Vratsa) at the last moment instead.
