Borja Mayoral leaving Getafe?

Mundo Deportivo reports that Borja Mayoral is considering a temporary move to Rayados de Monterrey to join Sergio Ramos for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The move would take advantage of an extraordinary transfer window starting tomorrow until the 10th of the month. Mayoral sees this as an opportunity to play in the tournament but is unsure about staying in Mexican football long-term. His current club Getafe must approve the move.

Borja Mayoral's contract with Getafe is set to run until June 2027, yet his future at the club remains uncertain. CF Monterrey, a Mexican team where his former Real Madrid colleague Sergio Ramos transferred in February, has expressed interest in acquiring him. Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, known for his expertise in transfers, reported that CF Monterrey has made inquiries about Borja Mayoral, suggesting a strong possibility of his departure from Getafe. Mayoral experienced a challenging season due to physical issues, which restricted his time on the field. Getafe is amenable to his transfer and has placed a valuation of 9 million euros on him, as he is among the highest earners in the squad. His exit would alleviate the club's financial obligations regarding his salary.

Borja Mayoral, currently playing for Getafe, is being targeted by Como 1907, a club managed by Cesc Fàbregas. Fàbregas reportedly believes that Mayoral could significantly contribute to his team in Italy's Serie A. Como 1907 has made an initial offer, but it has yet to convince Getafe's management. However, with the Spanish transfer window closing soon and the Italian window open until Tuesday, Como 1907 might push further for his acquisition. Mayoral, who has previous experience in Italian football with Roma, has recovered from a knee injury to become a key player for Getafe.
