Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Ben Godfrey is transferring from Atalanta to Rangers on loan with an option to buy.

Rangers are to sign England international Ben Godfrey on a season-long loan from Atalanta, and the 28-year-old centre-back is expected to be the next new signing at Ibrox. New manager Derek McInnes has targeted the defender and is hopeful of completing a deal. McInnes is keen to add defensive reinforcements for the new campaign. Godfrey, who has two caps for England, joined the Serie A club from Everton in 2024 for £11 million and is contracted there until 2028. He spent his most recent loan spell at Danish club Brondby, making 11 league appearances and scoring one goal in the 2025/2026 season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €5.00m.
