Balša Popović is the leading candidate to become the new goalkeeper for Olympiacos, as the club has reportedly chosen him to replace Alexandros Paschalakis. The club's interest in the 26-year-old Montenegro and Serbia international is not new; they attempted to sign him last summer, but the transfer was not completed, and the team continued with Tzolakis and Paschalakis. Popović has been the main goalkeeper at OFK Beograd for the last three years, although he is owned by Crvena Zvezda, who purchased him for €900,000. With Paschalakis departing as a free agent, a position has become available on the roster, positioning Popović as the favorite to join Tzolakis. The goalkeeper, who has four caps for Montenegro, is under contract with Red Star Belgrade until June 2028 and has a current market value of €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt. In the 2025/2026 season, he made 28 appearances in the Super liga Srbije and 6 in the championship round.
