Birmingham City are nearing an agreement to sign Allsvenskan top goalscorer August Priske, a 21-year-old Danish striker, from Djurgårdens IF, and are in a more advanced position than both LOSC Lille and Besiktas in the pursuit of the player. Negotiations between the two clubs are progressing towards an agreement. According to Expressen, which cites 'several sources', Birmingham are also nearing a deal on personal terms with Priske. The talks are reportedly at such an advanced stage that the player is expected to miss a training match. RB Salzburg had a €4m bid rejected for Priske in August, with his value having increased since then. Following the rejected bid in August 2025, Djurgården's asking price was reportedly between €6 million and €7 million, and in October 2025 the club's sporting director was quoted stating that he could sell for more than €20 million. The Denmark U21 international, who has 6 caps and 1 goal, joined Djurgårdens in August 2024 and is under contract until the end of 2028. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.60m.
