Como president Mirwan Suwarso has turned down approaches from Premier League clubs for the 20-year-old Senegalese-Spanish winger Assane Diao. The clubs included Newcastle and Aston Villa, and it was reported that they were prepared to offer over 50 million euros. Como intends for Diao, who joined in July 2025 and has a contract until June 2029, to be a key part of their future project. The club is considering a contract extension until 2031 to deter interest. Diao has been capped six times by Senegal and has a market value of €30.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
