Arouna Sangante Transfer from Le Havre to Leeds United
Sources have said that Leeds United, Brentford, and Brighton and Hove Albion are among a group of Premier League clubs tracking Le Havre captain Arouna Sangante. Scouts have been impressed by his composure, leadership, and athletic profile. The 23-year-old defender, who is Senegalese and Guinea-Bissau, was close to joining West Ham United during the winter transfer window, and talks had reached an advanced stage. The transfer was stopped by head coach Nuno, who is understood to have preferred a more experienced player. West Ham's interest is not expected to decrease. Sources suggest a potential move could be reconsidered in the summer of 2026. Competition is expected to increase, as several other European teams are also monitoring Sangante. Sangante, who is uncapped by Senegal, has a contract with Le Havre that lasts until June 2026 and his current market value on Transfermarkt is €8.00m. This season in Ligue 1, he has made 18 appearances and scored one goal. In January 2025, reports indicated that Le Havre was asking for approximately €5 million for Sangante.
