A transfer for German and Ghanaian left-back Anton Donkor, 28, who earns around 1 million euros per year, was not completed this summer. First, a move to OFI Crete that had already been negotiated was not completed. Later, a deal with Heidenheim was also not completed on Deadline Day. This second transfer did not proceed because Heidenheim's player, Leart Paçarada, did not complete a move to Osnabrück, which meant that Donkor, who was a replacement candidate, had to remain at Schalke. His contract with the club runs until June 2027, and he has been capped four times for the Germany U20 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €400k.
