Aníbal Moreno is expected to join River Plate in the coming days. In a video on social media, Aníbal stated that he made the correct decision regarding the change of club. Initially, River Plate had suggested a loan with an option to buy to Palmeiras, but Palmeiras refused and stated they would only sell the player. River Plate then offered US$ 7 million for 100% of Aníbal Moreno's economic rights. Palmeiras wanted to recover the amount invested in Aníbal Moreno two years ago and considers this a good deal after his service to the club. The deal will not include a player being loaned from River Plate to Palmeiras as compensation.
