GAIS' 21-year-old centre-back Anes Cardaklija, who has dual Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Swedish nationality, has received interest from Greek club Panathinaikos. Allsvenskan side AIK also attempted to sign him. GAIS rejected a bid from AIK for just under ten million kronor. The club's technical director, Magnus Sköldmark, stated to GP that the process did not reach a point where letting the player go was a viable solution for the club. Sköldmark added that a move abroad could still happen as some transfer windows are still open and that it is possible something may yet occur. Cardaklija, who has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the U21 level, joined GAIS in September 2022 and is under contract until the end of 2028. In the current Allsvenskan season, he has made 13 appearances and scored one goal. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.00m.
