Andriy Lunin Transfer from Real Madrid to Oviedo
Andriy Lunin, who serves as a substitute goalkeeper for Thibaut Courtois at Real Madrid, has attracted interest from Oviedo, a newly promoted La Liga team. It was reported by the Televisión Pública de Asturias that Lunin had previously played for Oviedo on loan during the 2019/20 season. The club is keen on strengthening their squad to ensure they remain in the Primera División after a 24-year absence. Currently, Oviedo has only one goalkeeper, Aaron Escandell, signed for the upcoming season. Due to financial constraints, Oviedo is unable to meet Real Madrid's asking price of 20-30 million euros for Lunin, making a loan deal the only feasible option. At 26 years old, Lunin is also being monitored by several clubs from the Bundesliga and Premier League. He has a contract with Real Madrid that extends until 2030, following a renewal in September of last year. Despite gaining more playtime during the 2023/24 season due to Courtois's injury, Lunin remains a backup and is considering a potential transfer.
