Andrea Caponi, a former captain of Pontedera and born in the city, is being considered for a return to the club. He previously played for Pontedera from 2011 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2022. Recently, he has been playing in Serie D. Caponi is open to returning to Pontedera, potentially to end his career there and possibly take on a managerial or technical role afterward. Contacts have already occurred between the parties, but nothing has been finalized yet. There do not appear to be any obstacles to completing the transfer.
