Andi Zeqiri Transfer from Genk to Rubin Kazan
Rubin Kazan had expressed interest in acquiring the 26-year-old Swiss forward Andi Zeqiri, but he declined the move, indicating that Russia was not an option for him. Despite receiving offers from 12 clubs, including Rubin Kazan, Zeqiri chose to join Widzew Lodz, which secured his transfer for slightly less than 3 million euros. This transfer ranks as the second most expensive incoming transfer in Polish football history. Offers from other clubs such as Pafos FC, FC Kopenhagen, and Al-Shabaab were also turned down for various reasons, as Zeqiri reportedly preferred to play in a top league. Ultimately, the owner of Widzew Lodz personally traveled to meet Zeqiri and successfully persuaded him to join the Polish team. Transfermarkt estimates the player's current market value at €4.00m.
