FC Basel expressed interest in acquiring Andi Zeqiri, a 26-year-old Swiss forward, but negotiations with KRC Genk fell through, resulting in the transfer not materializing. Alongside Basel, Standard and Parma were among twelve clubs keen on Zeqiri; however, they were also unable to reach an agreement with Racing Genk, where Zeqiri's contract was due to expire in June 2026. Although Zeqiri favored a move to a top league, the inability to finalize a deal with these clubs, including Basel, led him to sign with Widzew Lodz. This move will make Zeqiri the second most expensive incoming transfer in Polish history. Transfermarkt has valued the player at approximately €4.00 million.
