Aliou Dieng leaving Al Ahly?
Jess Thorup has asked Al Ahly's management that Aliou Dieng not be allowed to leave during the next transfer window and is opposed to the midfielder's departure this winter. Negotiations between Al Ahly and the player are not progressing. The club offered Dieng a contract extension with an annual salary between 1.5 and 1.8 million dollars, but the player demands at least 2.5 million dollars, an amount considered incompatible with the club's current salary policy. This divergence is leading the management to consider a sale this winter, particularly because his contract expires at the end of the season.
Al Wakrah SC is interested in Aliou Dieng.
Al Qadsiah has made an official offer of $650,000 to Al Ahly for Aliou Dieng. The club's management views this amount as insufficient and is considering requesting an amount one million dollars higher than Al Qadsiah's offer. This is to secure a financial gain and prevent the player from leaving for free next summer. Al Ahly is giving more serious consideration to selling the player before his contract expires at the end of the season. The club finds Dieng's salary demands to be excessive, which supports the possibility of a transfer during the winter transfer window.
According to Africafoot, Aliou Dieng has reportedly refused to extend his contract and has expressed a desire to leave Cairo in the next transfer window to pursue a new opportunity, probably in the Gulf.
The player is close to declining Al Ahly's contract extension offer, favoring a return to the Gulf with a clear preference for the Saudi league, where he played on loan at Al Kholood last season. Al Ahly has informed the player's agent that if no agreement is reached, the club would permit the search for offers to begin from the January winter transfer window. This is to prevent a free departure at the end of his contract next summer and to free up a foreign player slot.
Africafoot reported that Neom SC were interested in the player in recent months.
Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng, 27, is the subject of significant interest from several Gulf clubs, specifically from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The player is attracted to this destination for both the sporting challenge and for financial offers that are significantly higher than what Al Ahly currently provides. Dieng's contract with Al Ahly is valid until June 30, 2027, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.00m.
