Aliou Dieng Transfer from Al Ahly to Al Shamal

Aliou Dieng, Al Ahly's 28-year-old Malian defensive midfielder, is very likely to leave the club during the January 2026 winter transfer window after refusing to extend his current contract, which runs until the summer of 2026, a refusal that Africafoot revealed. Despite repeated attempts by Al Ahly's management to convince him, the player has not changed his position. According to Africafoot, a recent meeting was held where Al Ahly presented a final official offer of a three-season extension valued at an estimated $2 million. Dieng has expressed his desire not to renew his contract, with a large financial difference making negotiations impossible. His agent has transmitted offers from several Gulf clubs, with Qatar being the most probable destination. Africafoot indicated that teams such as Al Duhail, Al Arabi, Neom SC, and Al Shamal have made financial proposals that are financially larger than Al Ahly's. The player has indicated his interest in a transfer to the region for new sporting challenges and superior financial offers. His experience on loan at Al Kholood in Saudi Arabia last season was a key factor in his choice to leave Al Ahly. The Mali international has 41 caps and 2 goals for his country, joined Al Ahly in July 2019 and has made 9 league appearances this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €3.00m.
