Aliou Dieng Transfer from Al Ahly to Al Duhail

Aliou Dieng, a 28-year-old Malian defensive midfielder for Al Ahly, is very likely to leave the club during the January 2026 winter transfer window. This follows his refusal to extend his current contract, which runs until summer 2026, as reported by Africafoot. Despite repeated attempts by Al Ahly's management to convince him, the player has expressed his desire not to renew his contract. According to Africafoot, a recent meeting was held where Al Ahly made a final offer of a three-season extension with an estimated value of $2 million. His agent has transmitted offers from several Gulf teams, including Al Duhail, Al Arabi, Neom SC, and Al Shamal. These offers include financial proposals that, Africafoot indicated, are much more attractive than those from the Cairo club. The player has indicated his own interest in a transfer to the Gulf region, citing new sporting challenges and superior financial offers. Aliou Dieng's experience in Saudi Arabia last season, during a loan to Al Kholood, was a factor in his choice to leave Al Ahly. Dieng, who joined the club in July 2019, has 41 caps and two goals for the Mali national team and has made 9 appearances in the Egyptian Premier League this season. His market value is currently estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.00m.
