Scouts from Crystal Palace, Arsenal, and Chelsea were present to watch Hearts' 17-year-old player Alfie Osborne captain the Scotland U19s against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday. The 6ft 5in centre-back's contract at Hearts expires this summer, which could make him available for a compensation fee of £160k. Osborne has been capped four times for Scotland at the U19 level. In the current 2025/2026 season, he has made 27 appearances and scored one goal in the Scottish Lowland Football League. It was reported in March 2026 that the compensation package would be less than £250,000.
