Kocaelispor is interested in Alexandru Mățan, a 27-year-old Romanian attacking midfielder who plays for Panetolikos and is set to become a free agent. The Turkish club, which finished 10th in its league, is reportedly looking to strengthen its team. Mățan, who joined Panetolikos in August 2025, has been capped twice for Romania's U23 side and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €2.00m. He recorded 6 goals and 3 assists in 40 appearances. Oğuzhan Ahmet Yiğit reported that a first meeting has taken place with the player's camp concerning a potential move.
