Sampdoria has reached an agreement to sign 2008-born Romanian midfielder Alexandru Bota from Universitatea Cluj. The young central midfielder is reportedly set to leave the club where he was born and raised to join the Serie B team. It is likely he will begin his time at the club with the Primavera squad. Bota has also made three appearances and scored one goal for the Romania Under-18 team. He joined Universitatea Cluj in August 2023 and his contract is valid until June 2027. This season, he has made three appearances in the SuperLiga. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is €100k.
