It was reported that Standard Liège was prepared to activate the release clause for 21-year-old Belgian-Serbian striker Alexandre Stanic, but the transfer did not proceed after the Lierse SK player failed his medical due to signs of an incipient hernia. Club Brugge had also previously pursued Stanic with the intention of having him play for Club NXT, but a transfer was not completed. According to Het Nieuwsblad, that potential move was unsuccessful due to some financial details. Stanic joined Lierse SK in January 2026 and has a contract until June 2029. He has been capped four times for the Belgium U18 national team. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €350k.
