Less than one month after his loan move from West Brom, Alex Williams has had limited game time at Hibernian, being a substitute in the first three games since moving. Williams appeared as a substitute in the 3-0 victory against Ross County in the League Cup but has not yet played in the Scottish Premiership. The loan move was sanctioned less than a week before Callum Styles was forced to cover the right-hand side of the West Brom backline. Hibernian are changing manager, as David Gray, who signed Alex Williams but was not utilising him, has been dismissed.

Alex Williams made his first appearance as a substitute and helped Hibernian in a Premier Sports Quarter-Final match against Ross County.

Alex Williams, a 21-year-old wing-back, has been signed by Hibernian on a loan from West Bromwich Albion. The loan is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 season. Williams is a right-sided Welsh defender and is Hibs' ninth signing of the summer. A product of West Brom's academy, he made his debut against Derby County last summer. Head coach David Gray stated his pleasure in bringing Williams to the club. Gray added that the player will offer more defensive depth and options on the right-hand side. The head coach also described Williams as a hard-working and energetic individual and a good fit for the league.
