21-year-old Irish defender Alex Murphy has revealed that he wants to play regularly, and it would be ideal for him to go out on loan if he cannot get opportunities at Newcastle United, for whom he has made one Premier League appearance this season. Murphy explained that if it were up to him, he would prefer to go out and play somewhere else, rather than remain on the fringes at Newcastle. Murphy said that if it were his choice, he would be somewhere else playing games but that it is not always down to him. Murphy also stated that he is delighted to be at Newcastle United and has no complaints about being there, and that it is just about wanting to play. The Ireland U21 international is under contract with the club until June 2028 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.50m.
