The American club Sacramento Republic is interested in signing Alex Lowry, a 22-year-old Scottish playmaker from Wycombe Wanderers. The USL Championship club has competition for the former Hearts loanee from the Swedish Superetten club Helsingborgs IF, which has submitted a loan bid. Lowry wants to move overseas to get more regular football, as domestic transfer markets are now closed and he has had a reduced role at the English League One club. In the current League One season, Lowry has made 15 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The midfielder joined Wycombe in January 2025 and has been capped twice by Scotland U21, scoring one goal. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €300k.
