Botafogo have shortlisted Barcelona SC centre-back Alex Rangel and are internally assessing a potential move. The 24-year-old Ecuadorian is also being pursued by Santos Laguna, who have requested updated information on the player and are a serious contender for his signing. Rangel, who joined his current club in January 2024, is currently under contract until December 2027. He has made 18 appearances in the 2025/2026 LigaPro Serie A season and has one cap for the Ecuador U23 national team. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €1.50m.
