Artur Płatek, the club's advisor, is well-acquainted with Petkow's skills due to his previous role overseeing transfers at Botew Plovdiv. Śląsk Wrocław is willing to consider selling Petkow if they receive an appropriate offer. Petkow has indicated his desire to remain with Śląsk, citing the happiness he and his family experience living in Wrocław. His contract with the club is set to expire on June 30 of the next year. Despite Śląsk's drop to the first league, Petkow might continue playing in the Ekstraklasa should the transfer be completed. Petkow joined Śląsk Wrocław in 2023 and enjoyed a successful season, having participated in 34 matches during the club's vice-championship run.
