To date, Athletico has made one official announcement for the 2026 season, confirming the signing of 24-year-old Colombian midfielder Alejandro García, who joins from Once Caldas-COL. García, who had been with Once Caldas since July 2019, was set to be out of contract at the end of December 2025. He has six caps for the Colombia U23 national team and a current Transfermarkt market value of €700k.
