Rangers are in talks with Zalaegerszegi to sign 19-year-old Nigerian centre-back Akpe Victory Maduabuchukwu, with the fee expected to be in excess of €5m. The player has also been tracked by clubs in Germany, Spain, and France, and Benfica is another club to have made an approach. Rangers are understood to be close to submitting an offer for the defender. Akpe joined Zalaegerszegi in January 2026 and is under contract until June 2028; his market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €100k.
