While weekend reports stated that Middlesbrough are competing with Coventry City to sign FC Cincinnati striker Kevin Denkey, Teesside Live reports that the Togo international is not a player of interest to Middlesbrough.

Alan Nixon reported that Middlesbrough are interested in FC Cincinnati striker Kevin Denkey. Denkey joined Cincinnati from Cercle Brugge in 2024 for a fee of $16.2 million (£12 million). His guaranteed salary for 2025 is $3.81 million (£2.82 million) a year, which is the second-highest at the club and equates to $73,269 (£64,023) per week. Denkey was signed by Cincinnati as a Designated Player and has a contract that runs until at least the end of 2029.
