According to TYC, the proposed transfer of 25-year-old Argentine-Italian midfielder Agustín Martegani from Boca to Newell's appears to have collapsed after the Rosario-based club withdrew from the operation. A meeting scheduled for Monday to finalize the last details of what was to be a loan with a purchase option was canceled, which halted the negotiations. The reported reason for the change was the midfielder's lack of playing time, as he has not been on the field since February 22 of the previous year. Martegani had joined Boca in mid-2024 from San Lorenzo for a fee of two and a half million dollars after a loan at Salernitana. His contract with the club is set to expire on 31/12/2028, and his current market value is €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
