Ado Onaiwu, a 29-year-old Japanese striker, has left AJ Auxerre to join FC Magdebourg, a team in Germany's second division. Onaiwu, who had a successful first season with Toulouse in Ligue 2, scoring 15 goals, found himself primarily in a substitute role last season, netting 4 goals in 31 matches with only 9 starts. He notably scored twice in a 4-0 win against Lens on April 27. After arriving in France from Japan, Onaiwu is set to experience playing in a third country with his move to Germany. Despite his contract with the French club being valid until June 2026, he has decided to leave, with his current market value estimated by Transfermarkt at €1.50m. The striker had also attracted interest from Belgian club Dender.
