Magdeburg won the race for Ado Onaiwu against the Belgian first division club FCV Dender. Onaiwu was a target for both clubs.

Dender has targeted 29-year-old striker Ado Onaiwu from AJ Auxerre to replace Aurélien Scheidler. The Japanese player has not yet agreed, as the club is trying to convince him to accept lower conditions in exchange for a starting position. The transfer is complex as Onaiwu would have to take a financial cut, although he would have more playing time at Dender. His contract with Auxerre runs until June 2026, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.5 million.
