26-year-old Moroccan centre-back Achraf Dari's attempt to unilaterally terminate his contract with Al Ahly SC failed after the Egyptian club paid all his outstanding wages, legally preventing a free departure. This came after the player's father and agent, Zouhair Dari, had previously indicated in a telephone interview that a contract termination was being considered. Due to a difficult sporting situation, having been removed from Al Ahly's squad list in January to create a space for a new signing, Dari and his father sought a solution for more playing time. He subsequently agreed to join Malmö FF until the end of the current season. The agreement specifies that Al Ahly will cover the salary difference to facilitate the loan. Dari's objective with the move is to regain his best form and reclaim his place in the Moroccan national team, for which he has 7 caps and 1 goal, for the 2026 World Cup. Al Gharafa SC is a prospective club to sign the defender during the upcoming summer transfer window. Dari, who joined Al Ahly in August 2024, has a contract with the club until June 2028 and a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.20m; he has provided 1 assist in the Egyptian Premier League this season.
