According to Bild, the transfer of Karim Coulibaly from Werder to Strasbourg is official after the clubs agreed on a deal on Tuesday evening. Coulibaly is moving for €20 million and is signing a contract until 2031. In Strasbourg, he will earn approximately €1.5 million gross, which is almost three times his salary at Werder. The report adds that Werder had originally hoped for double the transfer fee, but a planned change of agent to “Roc Nation” by Coulibaly caused a delay in the move. Werder ultimately had to accept Strasbourg’s offer because the agencies involved only reached an agreement late. The deal does not include any bonus payments, with Bremen only securing a ten percent sell-on clause. The transfer was completed smoothly due to talks between Strasbourg boss Behdad Eghbali and agent Nochi Hamasor.
