RC Strasbourg is continuing discussions to sign Karim Coulibaly, a 19-year-old German-Ivorian central defender from Werder Bremen. The German club has rejected two offers from the Alsatian club, but negotiations remain open. A third proposal may be submitted in the coming hours. Strasbourg is interested in Coulibaly's profile and wishes to strengthen its defense with a young, experienced Bundesliga player. According to Transfermarkt, Coulibaly is valued at 28 million euros. He earns an annual salary of 380,000 euros in Germany. His contract with the club runs until June 2029, and in the 2025/2026 Bundesliga season, he made 27 appearances, scoring one goal. The defender, who has one cap for Germany U21, has also been linked with several other clubs, including Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain. During the winter 2026 window, Werder Bremen reportedly rejected an offer significantly exceeding €20 million. Reports in August 2026 suggested the club's asking price was around €30 million.
