Abakar Sylla Transfer from Strasbourg to Nantes
According to L'Équipe, discussions between Nantes and Strasbourg for a loan for Abakar Sylla had stalled, but Racing now seems to be reconsidering loaning the Ivorian central defender. As a result, Nantes is searching again.
According to L'Équipe, Nantes considered Strasbourg player Abakar Sylla to strengthen their central defense. Discussions for a six-month loan have ended and Nantes is now exploring other options. Sylla has a contract until 2028, has had some physical issues, and has not played since this summer.
Nantes, in its effort to maintain its position, attempted to acquire Aboubakar Sylla but eventually decided to pursue Saïdou Sow instead.
FC Nantes is considering the acquisition of Abakar Sylla, a 22-year-old Ivorian defender, on a six-month loan to bolster their central defense, following Nathan Zézé's extended absence. Sylla was acquired by Strasbourg for €20 million during the summer of 2023. However, Sylla has seen reduced playing time since recovering from an adductor injury, as coach Liam Rosenior has favored the Sarr-Doukouré partnership. FC Nantes perceives this as an opportunity to negotiate a loan arrangement, with the aim of strengthening their efforts in the relegation battle.
