The report also states that Birmingham City are confident they can activate the 30-year-old's €5m (£4.2m) release clause. Escandell, whose team was relegated from La Liga last season, was omitted from a friendly match on Wednesday night. The goalkeeper joined Real Oviedo in July 2024 and is under contract until June 2027. His current market value is €3.00m, according to Transfermarkt, and his last transfer for a fee was a reported €400,000 move in July 2023.
