Yann Sommer, a 37-year-old Swiss international, is likely to leave Inter when the season concludes, as there is currently no plan to renew his contract, which is worth 2.5 million annually and expires in June.
Blick reports that a return to Basel could be an option for the player, with the Swiss club hoping to sign him from July 1st as a replacement for Hitz. Sommer previously won four league titles with Basel before moving to the Bundesliga. The goalkeeper has 94 caps for Switzerland and has made 19 appearances in Serie A this season. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €2.50m. Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have also been linked with him.
