Joël Piroe, a 27-year-old Surinamese international centre-forward, is expected to move from Leeds United to West Ham United. A bid of more than 17 million euro has been made for the player. Eindhovens Dagblad suggests the chances of him moving to London are high. Piroe's agent, Theo Roebbers, stated that the asking price for his client was raised despite his lack of playing time. Speaking to VI, Roebbers added that Leeds had suddenly deviated from the initial asking price, which he stated was not market-conform. He also mentioned that this asking price had previously deterred interest from other clubs during the summer, including Ajax, Strasbourg, Alavés, and Anderlecht.
It is not clear if the deal will be a direct sale or a loan with an obligatory purchase option. The transfer is expected to be finalized in the short term, according to Voetbal International. Eindhovens Dagblad reports that if the move is completed for more than 17 million euro, PSV will receive approximately half a million euro. Piroe joined Leeds from Swansea City in August 2023 for a reported €14 million. His current contract is valid until June 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €10.00m. According to reports from May 2026, Leeds were prepared to sell for between £8 million and £10 million. In August 2026, the club's minimum asking price was reported to be €18.7 million.
